mario.reset_settings(*, persist=False)#

Restore built-in defaults, leaving stored matrices intact.

Parameters:

persist (bool, keyword-only, default False) – If False, reset only this session; saved user defaults remain available to future sessions. If True, also delete the user configuration file, so future sessions start with built-in defaults. An absent file is harmless. If deletion fails, active settings remain unchanged and the filesystem error is raised.

Notes

Call reset_settings() at the start of a notebook to use built-in names regardless of any saved profile. Other kernels are unaffected. Use get_settings_path() to inspect the profile that persist=True removes.

See Settings and Utilities for session settings, optional persistence and profile locations.
