CoreModel.ma_ex(*, factors=None, scenario: str = 'baseline')#

Return activity-side exploded value-added multipliers for SUT.

\[\begin{split}m_{a,\mathrm{ex}} = \begin{bmatrix} \operatorname{diag}(v_{a,h})w_{aa} \\ \operatorname{diag}(v_{c,h})w_{ca} \end{bmatrix}\end{split}\]

The equation is for one selected factor of production h. The two blocks are stacked on rows: activity contributors first, then commodity contributors. Summing contributor rows for each factor recovers that row of ma. Here \(w_{ca}=u\,w_{aa}\).

Parameters:
  • factors – Optional subset of factor rows to explode. Accepts one label or an iterable of labels.

  • scenario – Scenario used to read source matrices.

Returns:

DataFrame with a 3-level MultiIndex on the rows describing the factor and the contributing activity or commodity.

Return type:

pandas.DataFrame

Notes

For IOT models use m_ex(). For the commodity side use mc_ex().

The full baseline result is also available as the property db.ma_ex_all.
