Calculate the SUT use direct-output coefficients bu.

\[b_u = \operatorname{diag}(X_c)^{-1}U\]

Parameters:

• Xc (pandas.DataFrame or pandas.Series) – Commodity production, indexed exactly like the rows of U. A DataFrame must have one column.

• U (pandas.DataFrame) – Use flows, with commodity rows and activity columns.

Returns:

Direct-output coefficients, with the commodity rows and activity columns of U.

Return type:

pandas.DataFrame

Notes

Each row is divided by commodity production. A zero production value sets the corresponding coefficient row to zero.
