mario.calc_u(U, Xa)

Calculate the SUT use coefficients matrix u.

\[u = U\operatorname{diag}(X_a)^{-1}\]

Parameters:

• U (pandas.DataFrame) – Use flows, with commodity rows and activity columns.

• Xa (pandas.DataFrame or pandas.Series) – Activity production, indexed exactly like the columns of U. A DataFrame must have one column.

Returns:

Use coefficients, with the commodity rows and activity columns of U.

Return type:

pandas.DataFrame

Notes

Each column is divided by activity production. A zero production value sets the corresponding coefficient column to zero. The same equation applies under IT and PT.
